5 Reasons Why Organic Cotton is Better

Premium quality, stylish beach towels are what we're all about. We make them using eco-friendly methods and 100% natural materials to make sure the towels feel amazing and so do you. One of the main fabrics we use is organic cotton, so why is this better than conventional cotton?

1. Eco-friendly

Organic cotton is grown without using toxic chemical fertilizers, pesticides and insecticides. This helps to improve soil, prevents water contamination and conserve biodiversity. Growing it uses 62% less energy than conventional cotton.

2. Improves the health of farmers and their families

Conventional cotton accounts for nearly 25% of the insecticides and 10% of the pesticides used throughout the world (even though its grown on just 3% of the total cultivated area). This type of production leads to poisoning which causes serious health problems for cotton farmers.

3. Safe on your skin

You're probably going to spend hours laying on your beach towel and also using it to dry yourself (it is a towel after all). The organic cotton we use is hypoallergenic, this means that there's a much less chance of causing reactions in people with chemical sensitivities and asthma.

4. Better quality

The organic cotton we use has longer fibers than conventional cotton. This means there's fewer joins in spinning yarns, which results in stronger and smoother cotton threads.

5. Uses a lot less water

Water consumption of organic cotton is 91% lower than conventional cotton. This is mainly because organic cotton receives very little irrigation in comparison, relying mostly on rainfall.
